Saxo Bank publishes important info for partners using Federated Single Sign On

Multi-asset investment specialist Saxo Bank has published important information for its partners using Federated Single Sign On (FSSO).

The current Saxo Bank Encryption Certificate and the Saxo Bank Signature Certificate expiring on 24 December will be retired early on 15 December 2022.

New certificates are already available to be extracted from the metadata URLs shown below. Saxo Bank will present both certificates until 15 December 2022. Saxo strongly suggests that its partners begin to use the new certificates as soon as possible to ensure that you have adequate time to complete the switch.

  • Simulation — https://sim.logonvalidation.net/metadata

Saxo also advises its partners that its best practise recommendation is that partners should dynamically extract certificates from the metadata URLs above once-a-day as a minimum. Saxo Bank may need to replace a certificate at anytime either for security reasons or because it is about to expire.

Saxo Bank does not usually notify that a certificate is about to be replaced and it is up to the particular partner to ensure a process for dynamic retrieval of the certificates is in place.

However, due to the timing this year, the imminent holiday season and potential freeze periods, Saxo is taking the extraordinary step of a personal reminder. If certificates are not dynamically retrieved from the metadata URLs, there is a risk that a partner’s process will use an expired or withdrawn certificate which would prevent a successful login to the trading platforms.
